Long ago, during the GNI lounge days, they held an incredible workshop lead by the wonderful@caspertk_ . We did fun, grounding activities and spoke about the traditions and activities we have that can create a ritual.

I remember going to see Hidden Figures in a theater in Brooklyn. I remember because a bunch of kids were on a class trip to watch it and I thought that was really sweet and hoping they enjoyed it as much as I did.

Every Christmas one of my favorite things is watching Hallmark/Lifetime movies. I can never get enough of the cozy romances especially those where a big city girl goes back home to her beautiful town and works in a small, family owned business. So this new release was just hitting all the bells. Also this cover is just so perfect!

This cover reminds me of our kitchen in Fort Greene - it was filled with light and get very peaceful. Food can be complicated and weighted when really it should be about our enjoyment, our nourishment, our canvas.

A few years ago I read a YA book about the Tulsa massacre- it was a journey of awakening about the history of this country and how learning about it changed the way the main character saw her hometown. I had never heard of the massacres before and wanted to know more. It also was told through the HBO series Watchmen with Regina King.
